Charge Ready Home: eligible single-family SCE customers may receive up to $4,200 through the income-qualified pathway or up to $2,100 through the geographic pathway for a qualifying panel upgrade. The program generally requires an original panel below 200 amps, a new 200-amp panel, a dedicated 240-volt outlet near off-street parking and Level 2 charging within the required period. Funding is reserved only after administrator approval.
TOU-D-PRIME: this is a rate plan, not a rebate. It is available to customers who attest to having an EV or plug-in hybrid, residential battery, or electric heat pump for water or space heating. It has a higher daily basic charge and no baseline credit, so customers should compare it against other rates.
SGIP: SCE states that its ratepayer-funded SGIP budgets are closed to new applicants and its state-funded Residential Solar and Storage Equity funds are exhausted and currently waitlisted. Do not include SGIP savings without a written confirmed reservation.

Current SGIP residential battery status.

For new SCE residential applications, the broad ratepayer-funded SGIP budgets are closed. SCE also states that its state-funded Residential Solar and Storage Equity allocation has been exhausted and new applications are currently waitlisted. A waitlisted application is not a confirmed reservation and may be funded only if money becomes available through project attrition or another authorized allocation. Household income, utility territory, equipment, paired-solar rules, demand-response enrollment and other program requirements must still be satisfied. Separate federal EV charger timing from the SCE rebate. Charge Ready Home is an SCE panel-upgrade program. The federal personal Section 30C charger credit is a separate tax provision and is unavailable for charging property placed in service after June 30, 2026. Earlier qualifying projects also require a main home in an eligible census tract and tax-professional review.

Before a homeowner counts on an SCE-related incentive, the project should be reviewed in writing. Program funding, utility territory, equipment lists, income rules, reservation status, tax treatment and inspection requirements can change, so the safest approach is to confirm the project details before signing a final scope.

→Confirm utility territory. Verify whether the home is served by SCE, LADWP, Glendale Water & Power, Burbank Water and Power, Pasadena Water and Power, or another municipal utility.
→Match equipment to the active program. Heat pump, EV charger, smart thermostat and battery equipment should be checked against current program rules before installation.
→Collect documentation early. Save model numbers, AHRI certificates where applicable, permits, paid invoices, utility account information and program forms.
→Separate estimates from approvals. A proposal can show possible incentive pathways, but final program approval stays with the utility or program administrator.
→Compare whole-home timing. HVAC, EV charger installation, Tesla Powerwall, solar, panel upgrades and roofing may affect the best installation sequence.

SCE heat pump rebate photo checklist: take pictures before equipment removal

For certain SCE Home Performance Plus fuel-substitution heat pump and heat pump water heater rebates, program requirements include timestamped, geotagged photographs before and after installation, including existing and newly installed equipment nameplates. This requirement does not automatically apply to every SCE incentive.

Ask the applicable participating program contractor which evidence is required for your measure and whether the application must be submitted by a trade ally.
Before removal, photograph the full existing equipment and readable nameplate with the required date and location information.
After installation, document the new equipment and nameplate, and retain the itemized invoice, model numbers and any required permit or test results.

Do not assume that an ordinary camera picture, after-the-fact photo or a specific geotagging app automatically satisfies the program.
