Current SGIP residential battery status.
For new SCE residential applications, the broad ratepayer-funded SGIP budgets are closed. SCE also states that its state-funded Residential Solar and Storage Equity allocation has been exhausted and new applications are currently waitlisted. A waitlisted application is not a confirmed reservation and may be funded only if money becomes available through project attrition or another authorized allocation. Household income, utility territory, equipment, paired-solar rules, demand-response enrollment and other program requirements must still be satisfied.

A submitted, pending or waitlisted SGIP application is not guaranteed funding. No SGIP amount should be treated as project savings unless the applicable program administrator has formally approved and reserved it. Home Upgrade Specialist is not a tax advisor.

Separate federal EV charger timing from the SCE rebate. Charge Ready Home is an SCE panel-upgrade program. The federal personal Section 30C charger credit is a separate tax provision and is unavailable for charging property placed in service after June 30, 2026. Earlier qualifying projects also require a main home in an eligible census tract and tax-professional review.
SCE incentive review checklist.
Before a homeowner counts on an SCE-related incentive, the project should be reviewed in writing. Program funding, utility territory, equipment lists, income rules, reservation status, tax treatment and inspection requirements can change, so the safest approach is to confirm the project details before signing a final scope.
- →Confirm utility territory. Verify whether the home is served by SCE, LADWP, Glendale Water & Power, Burbank Water and Power, Pasadena Water and Power, or another municipal utility.
- →Match equipment to the active program. Heat pump, EV charger, smart thermostat and battery equipment should be checked against current program rules before installation.
- →Collect documentation early. Save model numbers, AHRI certificates where applicable, permits, paid invoices, utility account information and program forms.
- →Separate estimates from approvals. A proposal can show possible incentive pathways, but final program approval stays with the utility or program administrator.
- →Compare whole-home timing. HVAC, EV charger installation, Tesla Powerwall, solar, panel upgrades and roofing may affect the best installation sequence.
