Eligible SCE projects use SCE's Solar Billing Plan, while LADWP customers follow LADWP's separate rules. The CPUC's net-metering and net-billing guidance identifies the investor-owned utilities it covers, and SCE explains the eligibility of existing NEM accounts. Compare a battery using the applicable tariff, household usage, backup goals and installed price, rather than assuming every Westside home is on NEM 3.0. And if your roof is aging, it's usually best handled before panels go on.
