• →Palos Verdes Peninsula fire risk and PSPS. The Palos Verdes Peninsula has experienced significant fire events and documented SCE PSPS shutoffs. During extreme fire weather, grid power can be cut for extended periods. A Powerwall paired with solar provides automatic backup without generator fuel or noise — recharging from solar panels each sunny day of an outage.
• →SCE territory and NEM 3.0. Palos Verdes Estates is in SCE territory. Under NEM 3.0, battery self-consumption is worth more than exporting solar to the SCE grid. We design every PVE installation with both outage backup and NEM 3.0 self-consumption in mind. We do not promise any specific financial outcome.
• →Whole-home or essential-load backup. For PVE homes, whole-home backup keeps all circuits live — HVAC, kitchen, EV charger. Essential-load backup protects refrigerator, lighting, internet, medical devices, and select outlets at lower system cost. We size to your specific load. Backup duration depends on approved design, battery capacity, solar production and actual usage.
• →Enphase IQ Battery as an alternative. For homes with Enphase microinverter solar systems, modular Enphase IQ Battery 5P units are a strong alternative. We install both systems and review both during your estimate.

SGIP review and roof before battery.

• →SGIP Equity Resiliency review. The Palos Verdes Peninsula’s fire-zone designation may qualify homeowners for the SGIP Equity Resiliency tier, which offers higher rebate incentives than the standard SGIP tier. Eligibility requires income qualification, PSPS event history, battery size, and available program funding. Not assumed. We review eligibility during your estimate. We are not a tax advisor.
• →Roof condition before battery + solar. If you are adding solar with the Powerwall, a roof with limited remaining life should be assessed first. Solar panels last around 25 years — installing them on an aging roof means a future removal and reinstall. Class A fire-rated roofing is required in PVE’s fire zone.
